When is the best time to visit the Walt Disney world Resort?

If you're planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, you might be wondering when the best time to go is. The answer, unfortunately, is that there isn't really a definitive answer. It all depends on your personal preferences and what you're looking for in a vacation. However, there are a few things to keep in mind that might help you narrow down the perfect time for your family.

Peak Times vs. Off-Peak Times
The first thing you need to decide is whether you want to visit during a peak time or an off-peak time. Peak times are the times of year when the theme parks are most crowded, which means longer lines for rides and attractions, higher hotel prices, and generally more commotion all around. Peak times at the Walt Disney World Resort include summer vacation, Christmas break, and Easter break.

If crowds aren't your thing, then you might want to consider visiting during an off-peak time. With that said, even the off-peak times can be pretty busy - the Walt Disney World Resort is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, after all. However, you'll find that lines are shorter and prices are lower during these periods. Plus, some attractions and events are only offered during peak times, so if there's something specific you're hoping to see or do, that might factor into your decision as well.

Weather Considerations
Another thing to think about is the weather. Florida is known for being hot and humid - not exactly ideal vacation weather for everyone. If you're not a fan of very warm temperatures, then you might want to consider avoiding Florida during the summer months. However, some people actually prefer this weather because it means they don't have to deal with crowds as much. So again, it really comes down to personal preference.  If you plan on visiting during the warmer months, grab some tips on how to beat the heat at the Walt Disney World Resort for a more comfortable vacation experience. You should also be aware that you are likely to encounter more afternoon rain or thunderstorms during the summer months and being prepared for this weather in the parks is crucial.  Some parks are better suited for rainy days than others - read which theme parks are the best to visit during inclement weather here.

If you plan on visiting during the winter months, you should also be prepared for chilly weather.  Most people don't think of the cold when they think of Florida, but when a cold front moves in it can get chilly.  I have visited the Walt Disney World Resort many times during the winter months and have found myself shopping for thin gloves and extra sweatshirts on occasion.  I can recall one trip that started out very warm and after a brief period of rain a news making cold front moved in. It was actually colder in Orlando than in our home province of New Brunswick (east coast of Canada for those of you unfamiliar with Canadian geography) Although this isn't the norm, it is something to consider if you are visiting during the winter months.

As you can see, there's no easy answer when it comes to deciding when the best time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. It really depends on a number of different factors - what kind of weather you like, how busy you want the parks to be, what kind of budget you're working with, etc. The best thing to do is sit down with your family and figure out what matters most to you. Once you've done that, finding the perfect time for your trip will be a breeze!

Hello There!

My name is Kelly Eatmon-Cole and I am a wife and working mom of 2 energetic little girls.

Do you dream of planning the perfect Disney vacation but just aren't sure where to start? Did you start to plan but became overwhelmed with all of the conflicting information and just gave up?

That’s exactly how I felt when I was planning my first Walt Disney World Resort vacation! I made all of the rookie mistakes because I just didn’t know where to find the information I needed. Planning my first few trips to the most magical place on earth (in my opinion anyway) was stressful and by the time my vacation rolled around I was exhausted from all of the planning and lack of knowledge.

I learned from my planning mistakes and started to document what worked and what didn’t. I’ve also picked up a multitude of advice, tips and tricks along the way and started sharing them with others.  Fast forward to today and I love planning Disney vacations...not only my own, I love helping others plan their vacations too. It is with great pride that I have turned my passion into a profession and became a travel agent.  I now get to combine my travel experience with professional training to help take the stress out of your vacation. It is my absolute pleasure to share my travel knowledge and I am here to help you create the most memorable, stress-free vacations possible.

I am also a Certified Autism Travel Professional and love helping families and individuals on the ASD spectrum plan incredible vacations (CATP 24790104).
